1. 서론
1. 비교 종교학 강의 목적
기독교가 절대적인 진리의 종교임을 타종교와 비교 조사함으로써 기독교
의 참된 유일성을 배우는데 있다. 참된 유일성이란 복음의 유일한 구원의
멧세지 즉 우리의 구원을 위한 예수 그리스도의 죽음과 부활의 역사성을 말한다.
일반 종교에 대한 어떤 믿음을 제시하는 것이 아니다. 이 구원의 소식은 참된 계 시이다.
Jaques Ellul의 말,
Faith associates with revelation, belief associates with religion. Faith in revelation. . . . runs totally contrary to religion, Living faith, p. 148.
2. 비교 종교학을 연구하는 목적(제임스 루이스외, 세계의 종교와 관습)

Sir Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan(1888-1975)- sees the center of the New Testament in the ethics of Jesus and his consciousness of God, but he gives little play to the doctrines of sin and atonement. 루이스, 20-21.
Richard Drummond는 아나타 (anatta; 無我), 아니카(anicca; 無常)를 신 중하게 취급 못함, 아나타-un a ta (B-Pali; lit. "no self"), anicca- u ne chu (B-Pali; lit. "not enduring") 이 뜻은 모든 것은 다 생멸. 전변하여 상주함이 없음.
삼장-경장-교리, 율장-지킬 계율, 논장-교리의 연구논석. 기 독교와 차이점- 루이스, 20-21, 세계종교는 자연신학의 범주.
Sikh- Guru Nanak(1469-1539), combing Hinduism and Islam. He said, "One would come close to a god through meditation and devotion.

마태 7:12- 무엇이든지 남에게 대접을 받고자 하는대로 너희도 남을 대 접하라 이것이 율법이요 선지자니라.
차이점은 논어는 사회윤리적인 면에서 도덕을 강조하지만,
예수께서는 이웃에 대한 사랑을 율법과 선지자의 내용으로 이해한다. 타종교의 사람들에 대한 사랑으로 세계 종교의 핵심적인 사상으로 이해 해야 한다.

종교 다원화, 타종교들에 대한 전망.
*결론적으로 세계 종교라는 보다 큰 배경속에서 예수님의 말씀을 명확하게 보자.
3. 개혁주의 입장에서 비교 종교학이란?
세계 종교들의 사상과 교리들을 비교 연구함으로써 특별계시가 없는 자연종교의 문제점을 성경과 개혁신학적 안목을 통하여 찾아내 고 참된 종교인 기독교의 진리성을 제시하는 학문.
학자들의 정의-
The term comparative religion, a shortened form of "the comparative study of religion (or religions)," became current in the late nineteenth century as a synonym for "the science of religion" (in German, Religionswissenschaft; in French, la science de religion). As originally conceived, it centered on the application of the comparative (or scientific) method to the data provided by the relgions of the world, past and present.- Eric J. Sharpe

1873년 <종교학 서론>에서 언어와 종교는 서로 밀접한 관계가 있다는 데서 출발. 신을 인도에서는 데바. 이란-데와, 그리스-제우스, 로마-쥬피 더. 여기서 같은 어근에서 발달함을 알 수있다. 문법적 예를 열거한다.

4. 비교종교학 연구의 역사
칼빈주의 교리(구속받지 못한자의 전적인 타락)는 이방종교에 대한 동정적인 견 해에 대한 반동이었다.. E. O. James, Comparative Religion, p. 15.
Joseph Scaliger- treated OT as an intergral part of ancient history.
John Selden- showed some critical understanding of Semitic mythology.
Cudworth argued that Plato's trinity was derived from Hebraism.
Dr. John Spencer- the ritual laws of the Hebrews which Robertson Smith somewhat optimistically described as laying 'the foundations of the science of comparative religion'.

5. 비교 종교학의 연구 방법론
세계의 여러 종교와 또는 인간생활에 나타난 여러가지 종교형태를 비교연구함.
객관적인 연구의 전제
종교 단체에 관대한 마음, 자료를 정직하게 분석, 신중한 관찰, 관련된 언어.
설명- 합법적으로 제한된 상황안에서 인과관계를 보여주는 것, 누가, 무엇을, 언제, 어 디서, 왜
서술과 이론- 역사적인 사실 설명( 경험이나 역사적인 자료에서 비롯된 대답은 서술적인 설명 또는 관찰할 수 있는 정도와 대중에게 한정된 자료에 기반을 둔 설명)과 학 문에 기반을 둔 대답.
